Hello, my name is Dave. I am currently living in Penn Yan, NY with my lovely fiance and our 11 week old daughter. I am currently working as a web developer at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. Life is always hectic with a newborn and a full-time job, but it is so rewarding to be able to go home to a daughter I love and a fiance that loves me as much as I love her. I have been a web developer for about two years now and got my Bachelor of Technology Degree in Information Technology/Web Development from the SUNY College of Technology at Alfred in the Spring of 2010 and am always researching new materials and new methods of creating and delivering web content. In the time I have been with the company I have created an interactive campus map, started a website committee to evaluate our current site design and have created and helped launch a mobile version of the college’s website.
When I am not working, I love to spend a lot of time with my fiance and my daughter at the playground or visitng relatives. She is the light of our world and she means everything to both of us. If I am not with them, you will usually find me on my X-Box playing an arcade game here or there or sometimes venturing into the online multiplayer battlegrounds. I love to read when I have time (although I am listening to a lot of audio books now because it is easier to do this while I work). I am a fan of horror movies and a big fan of zombies and zombie fiction, games, movies and everything else. I look forward to gaining a lot out of this program and hope that I can push all the time to do my best.
I hope to be able to get a good sense of new technologies for learning from this program. I have always had a passion for video gaming and saw that there are aspects of the program dealing with learning in these types of virtual worlds. I have always thought that it would be interesting to learn what one can do with any media outlet to establish a sense of learning. I hope to eventually be able to leave behind this Web Developer position and move on to bigger and better things. I want to be able to use the knowledge I gain here to be able to teach others or even help to develop the systems to be able to allow others to teach.
